The picture is of the Brazilian rain forest burning and hacked to splinters later on a slash and burn operation. The article tries to stay in a neutral scientific stance , however it is obvious that the article is against deforestation. The arcminute article, The Amazon River Lowland is also out of the same geography book. It was generally written to give the reader an idea of the different kinds of land in Brazil. It is for government intervention to save the forest. The third is a periodical, Logging slander during planned and unplanned logging operations in eastern Amazon. Its appears in the June 1996 encyclopedia of Forest Ecology and Management. This periodical takes a more possible approach to deforest ation. This article speaks as if it will happen no bet what but it focuses on what is mutually beneficial to both humans and the environment. The quaternary article also appears in the same set of encyclopedias but is in the March 1997 volume. It is entitled, Brazilian Amazonian caboclo agriculture effect of fallow period on maize yield. This periodical is an experiment to show which is better for growing corn whiskey after deforestation has occurred, either burning the forest or temporarily allowing it to grow back. This article made me think about the pros of deforestation and how burning could help the environment. It is presented scientifically with charts, maps, and graphs and it attempts to stay neutral but in the residuum it favors the fallow, or rest, period over burning. The fifth article is from the Internet and is named, The cordial Dynamics of Deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon An Overview. Only the economic science portion of this lengthy report was ana lyzed because of the overwhelming length of the constitution and irrelevance to this papers topic. This article is against deforestation and lists only the forbid economic factors of deforestation. It is written by the environmental Defense Fund and doesnt attack deforestation but preferably the World Bank which is helping it to occur.
