Directors Notes Act 3 Scene 5 of Romeo and Juliet :: Romeo and Juliet Shakespeare Theatre Essays

Directors Notes Act 3 Scene 5 of Romeo and JulietFollowing our breif meeting yester sidereal day, I thought you may apreciatesome wasted information about Act 3 Scene 5. I belive you argon stillunsure on some of the lines so I try for you leave find the followinginstructions suspensorful.Firstly it may help if I explain how this scene fits into the typify asa whole. This is an substantial scene as it shows Juliets relationshipwith her father, her fathers status in the play and Juliets views onhow she is treated as a child in the sixteenth century. to begin with thisscene happens Tybalt a member of the Capulet family is killed by aMontague, this causes a disseminate of stress in the Capulet household andwhen Capulet enters Juliets room he notices that she is crying,Capulet thinks this is because of Tybalt being killed exactly the audience go forth know that this is because of your marriage to Paris. After thisscene in that respect pass on be a swell deal of tension in the midst of you and Capulet.I musical note this scene is actually important as it shows the descent ofJuliet and Capulets relationship. I think that Shakespeare includedthis scene in the play because if it is acted decent then it allow forhave a huge impact on the audience. The stage will be quite simmilar to the sixteenth century stage, itwill just be updated for recent technology, it will have the same basal structure including the two pillars in the middle of the stage, also the audience will still be sitting around the outside of thestage. The ceiling will not be the same ornate celing, it will be veryplain as this is where the lighting and special effects will mystifyfrom, also the ceiling will be higher as this office it will not benoticed as part of the scenery. The abide of the stage will still havethe stairway in the focalize but the surroundings will be plain and moremodern. I have chosen this setting for the play as I chance the role ofCapulet will be stronger in a modern day setting. This will be becausea modern day audience will think that the way Capulet treats Julietand Lady Capulet is not fair and I feel this will have a huge impacton the play as a whole. As Capulet enters the room this will be a great entrance as he needsto be seen with great power, so there will be a loud slamming of adoor as he enters and walks towards you. Capulet needs to be noticed
